Re-cover

Re-cover, Verbeke Foundation, Kemzeke, Belgum 2011 Biodiversity can work in a very unique way, even in a single plant species. Re-Cover is an innovative and ambitious environmental project made with rescued willow trees which have been replanted on site. The bio-sculptures will change and grow as the natural boundaries of the structure develop. This project challenges the traditional relationships between ourselves and our environment, and confronts the trees with their own material. The trees, between 70-80 years old, were earmarked for destruction. I saw the potential and gave them a new lease of life, together with Geert Verbeke from the Verbeke Art Foundation. Client: Verbeke Art Foundation Kemzeke, BE Curator: Geert Verbeke In co-operation with: Team project service Foundation
