In Corpus Natura
“The Cocoon” is a natural living installation and a tribute to nature.
The natural art installation is a wake up call to make the public think about how we currently deal with Nature around us and how man and nature are linked.
From his global theme
“In Corpus Natura” Beckers makes a statement about the current volatile irreverent way of using natural elements.
The living environment that Beckers is creating with this project (2014 - 2016) includes innovative organic artworks which the artist also uses for his daily existence, while residing, on occasion, in his installation.
Beckers is known for his natural artistic breeding places which he builds where nature, art and education merge into one.
Official start of the project -
6 May 2014. Project officially opened by Joke Schauvliege, Flemish Minister for Environment, Nature and Culture and by Jan Oprins, CEO of the Royal Society for Agriculture and Botany, who commissioned the project.
“The Cocoon” is located outside the STAM Ghent City Museum; on the historic Bijloke site. The installation can be visited during the Floralien in Ghent.
